26 Tons of Salmonella Chicken Returned to Brazil

In a press release, the National Food Authority (AKU) has announced that 26 tons of chicken meat infected with salmonella will be sent back to its country of origin.

On May 3, the AKU had stopped a shipment of 26 tons of chicken meat from Brazil. Samples from the shipment were analyzed by the Institute of Veterinary and Food Safety (ISUV). On May 10, the analyses showed the presence of salmonella in the shipment and the AKU blocked further transportation of the chicken meat onto Albanian territory.

The shipment will now be returned to Brazil.
