33 MEPs Demand Visa Liberalization for Kosovo

33 Members of the European Parliament have asked German chancellor Angela Merkel for Schengen visa liberalization for Kosovo.

In an open letter they asked Merkel to put the issue of visa liberalization for Kosovo on the Council of Europe’s agenda.

MEP Ilhan Kyuchyuk posted the letter on his Twitter, announcing that the signatory MEPs, alongside European Parliament Rapporteur for Kosovo Viola von Cramon sent a letter to Merkel, asking her to put visa liberalization for Kosovo on the agenda of the German presidency of the Council of Europe.

The MEPs warned that the EU is losing credibility in Kosovo and that Kosovo’s institutions have met all of EU’s requirements, according to the European Commission and the European Parliament. Kosovo’s citizens should be able to enter the Schengen area with no obstacles.
