On the second day of mandatory mask-wearing in Albania, police handed out 341 fines for non compliance. This is around twice as many as the first day.
Failing to wear a mask in public carries a fine of 3000 ALL (EUR 24) for the first occasion and 5000 ALL (EUR 40) on the second occassion.
The government took the decision following high infection rates. Yesterday was the highest number of infections recorded so far with 289 cases in 24 hours.
