Currently, there are 351 Ukrainian citizens sheltering in Albania according to Interior Minister Bledi Çuçi.
On Wednesday, Çuçi met with Ukrainian ambassador Volodymyr Shkurov to discuss the assistance offered by Albania to Ukrainian refugees.
“There are currently 351 citizens from Ukraine staying in Albania, who have been granted temporary protection according to the full legal framework we have for asylum. Other measures to facilitate their entry and stay will be adopted in the future if necessary,” Çuçi said after the meeting.
No visa will be required for Ukrainian citizens entering Albania and refugees can remain in Albania for up to a year without a residence permit.
Çuçi did not provide further information on how many more Ukrainian refugees are expected to arrive in Albania.
Kosovo has also lifted visa requirements for Ukrainian citizens and said it is ready to accept 5,000 refugees.
