European Commission President Ursula Von der Leyen stated that one of the EC’s priorities for 2019-2024 is to open negotiations with Albania and Northern Macedonia.
“I want to reconfirm the European perspective of the Western Balkans. I see an important role in the ongoing reform process across the region. We share the same continent, the same history, the same culture and the same challenges. We will build the same future together. I fully support the Commission’s proposal for opening negotiations with Northern Macedonia and Albania ”
It published today the six EC priorities for 2019-2024, which include; environmental issues, the EU economy, support for technology development, equality between European citizens, strengthening Europe in the international arena, and protecting and strengthening democracy within the EU.
