600 Albanian state schools have opened today providing catch-up lessons for children that couldn’t access online learning during the COVID-19 lockdown.
Some 5400 children from first to fifth grade will attend the supplementary course spanning two weeks. The additional classes were announced by the Ministry in a bid to allow them to catch up on work they were unable to complete due to lack of internet connection or television.
During the lockdown, many lessons were streamed on RTSH or via video streaming platforms including WhatsApp and Zoom.
The Ministry said classes will be conducted in line with COVID-19 protocols.
School will officially start for all pupils on 14 September.
