According to international media reports, an earthquake of magnitude 6.6 on the Richter scale and at a depth of 10 km hit central Italy this morning at 07:41, with its epicenter in Umbria and Marche, the shockwaves of which could be felt even in Tirana.

The earthquake, which caused extensive material damage, is the strongest in recent decades. Nine people have been injured, but no deaths have been reported so far.
