Five more doctors and nurses have recovered from COVID-19 today, bringing their number to 27, or 65 per cent of the medical staff that have been infected with coronavirus.
Since March 9, when the first coronavirus infected case was reported in Albania, 41 doctors and nurses have been infected.
This category constitutes around 10 per cent of the total number of infected persons, which reached 400 today.
38 of the infected medical staff are in Tirana, whereas three doctors from Durrës, Korça and Lushnja respectively have also been infected.
Medical staff have mainly contracted the virus from contact with infected patients. In some cases, patients failed to disclose their travel history to Italy, thus endangering the hospital’s staff.
