Eight Students Sentenced to Prison for One Egg

The Criminal Court of Tirana today convicted eight students for throwing an egg to the car of Prime Minister Rama in November 2015, as a sign of protest against the higher education law.

The eight students were accused for “Assault because of office” and “Resisting the officers of the public order police.” They have been sentenced to two months imprisonment, which is commuted into 60 hours of community work. The students will also have to pay the court costs.

Prime Minister Rama has failed to testify during any of the court sessions led by judge Arben Micko.
