The Municipality of Tirana will soon close the “Sheshi Shqiponja” (Eagle Square) near the Astir part of Tirana.
It forms one of the main junctions of the entire city and the Tirana-Durres highway and the outer city ring road system feed from it.
Due to construction work going on in and around the site, it will be closed for several months.
Traffic in Tirana has already been problematic, while works have been ongoing there and its closure for several months is expected to bring more traffic chaos to the city.
It was originally scheduled to be closed from Saturday 23 October but it has now been postponed by at least a week.
