Smartmatic was the only company that submitted an offer to the CEC for the implementation of biometric identification technology.
The CEC states that the company’s bid was submitted within the legal deadlines and qualifies to proceed to the negotiation phase of the contract terms.
The company has estimated a cost of about $ 20 million to implement biometric identification.

If the negotiations are successful and the contract is signed, the preparatory process for the implementation of the electronic voter identification system will begin.
