Prishtina based think tank, Group for Legal and Political Studies (GLPS) listed the vaccination of “at least half of the population” among most urgent acts that should be undertaken this year by the newly elected Kosovo government.
Njomza Arifi, GLPS’s program manager said that a detailed analysis of the damage caused by COVID-19 should be done by the government.
“The government should vaccinate half of the population by the end of this year. To achieve this, the necessary infrastructure must be created […] Vaccination should not be done selectively. The Ministry of Health should conduct an awareness campaign to encourage citizens to be vaccinated,” Arifi told media during a press conference on Saturday.
Talking about the justice system, Arifi said that justice reform is crucial and should start immediately “by focusing on finding the modalities for a successful realization of this process”.
According Rreze Hoxha Zhuja, a researcher at GLPS, one of the government’s priorities should be the restructuring of the public administration.
She also pointed out that the dialogue on normalisation of relations with Serbia, should be treated seriously by the government.
“The government should draft a state platform for dialogue and political unity is also important,” Hoxha Zhuja said.
