The government of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti plans to increase the country’s minimum wage to €250.
Kurti made the declaration on Friday, during a meeting with the head of Kosovo’s Coalition of Independent Unions (BSPK).
The Prime Minister said that his government is drafting new laws on labor and wages that would seek to increase transparency within public sector hiring and increase the minimum wage to €250 per month.
“We are now working hard to draft a new law that will provide a fair and sustainable solution to the payroll system in the public sector,” said Prime Minister Kurti.
The current minimum wage is €170 for workers aged 35 and up, and €130 for workers under 35.
