A 61-year-old man from Roskovec is suspected of murdering his daughter-in-law with a knife and then hanging himself from a tree, according to reports from the media and police.
The incident happened on Tuesday at around midday in the village of Vidhishte, Roskovec. Media reports that he killed the woman because he objected to her marrying his son, as she had been married before.
This led to ongoing conflicts resulting in the man murdering her before taking his own life.
The victim is reported to be 30-year-old Merushe Azizi who is mother to three children from her first marriage. She had been in a relationship with the suspect’s son for at least three years.
This is the fourth femicide of 2022 and the 23rd since the start of 2021.
