Nearly All Votes Counted

As nearly all ballot boxes have been counted, the new political landscape of Albania is coming into sharper relief. Dibra, Fier, Korça, Lezha, and Vlora have all reported 100% of their votes, whereas in the other counties more than 92% of the votes have been counted as of now.

Overall, the PS is big winner of these elections, acquiring an absolute majority of 74 seats in Parliament, a gain of 9 seats compared to 2013. LSI wins 3 seats, while the PD drops 7 seats from 50 to 43.

The Republican Party (PR) and the Christian Democratic Party (PKD) loose all their seats, even though PR leader Fatmir Mediu and PKD leader Nard Ndoka keep their parliamentary mandate as deputies of the PD in Tirana and Shkodra, respectively. Also PBDNj leader Vangjel Dule has secured a mandate for the PD in Vlora, and LZhK leader Dashamir Shehi in Tirana.

PDIU leader Shpëtim Idrizi loses his mandate in Tirana, while PAA leader Agron Duka failed to secure his mandate in Durrës as mpart of the PD list.
