The partial recount of a final total of 64 ballot boxes conducted by the Central Election Commission (KQZ) showed that only 7 of the 64 ballot boxes had been counted correctly. In 89% of the recounted ballot boxes, the KQZ found that the final vote count reported by the Vote Counting Groups did not correspond with the actual numbers of votes cast.
All major parties, PS, PD, and LSI appear to have stolen systematically votes from smaller parties, to such an extent that the final vote count in the County of Tirana has been lowered. The most “efficient” party at this scheme has been the LSI, which falsely appropriated 80 votes, but only got 6 votes stolen in return.
Only the PDIU, which together with the PS had demanded the partial recount, made an overall gain of 5 additional votes, which was however not enough to meet the electoral threshold. PDIU leader Shpëtim Idrizi will therefore remain outside Parliament.
