President of Kosovo Hashim Thaçi and President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić will meet tomorrow in Brussels to discuss a possible agreement between between the two countries. The meeting between the two heads of state is organized by EU High Representative Federica Mogherini.
Mogherini expressed the hope that by the end of 2019, the end of the mandate of the current European Commission, there will have been made concrete steps so that the integration of both countries into the EU can proceed.
A few weeks ago, the two presidents met in Brussels and agreed to advance the dialogue between the two states and start a new phase. Several working groups have been preparing the talks in concrete detail.
In recent weeks, both President Vučić and other Serbian politicians have expressed their willingness to come to an agreement with the Kosovo government. This would eventually entail changing the Serbian Constitution, for which Vučić’s party currently does not have sufficient votes.
