Albania Coronavirus Update, 4 April: 18 Dead, 333 Cases, 99 Cured

A 67-year-old man infected with Covid-19 has died on Saturday morning, bringing the death toll in Albania to 18. The patient had been intubated for six days, and was under hemodialysis.

29 more people have been diagnosed with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, with the total number of infected cases reaching 333.

This is the highest number of infected cases found in one day in Albania.

Twelve of the new cases yesterday were members of two families in Shkodra. 9 other member of the same families were diagnosed today.

216 people were tested in the last 24 hours. 2247 people have been tested so far, with 333 confirmed cases. 99 infected patients were cured, while 18 have died. 71 people are hospitalized, 7 of which are under intensive care, while one is intubated.

The rest remain in home in self-isolation.

The geographical distribution of cases is as follows: Tirana (157, including 7 deaths), Durrës (33, including 3 deaths), Lushnja (5, including one dead), Elbasan (8), Fier (25, including one dead), Kavaja (8, including two dead), Rrogozhina (4), Korça (16), Vlora (5, including one dead), Shkodra (31), Lezha (14), Berat (1), Has (9, including one dead), Kruja (5), Tropoja (4), Puka (4), Mirdita (3).

All patients who have recovered and have left the hospital will remain isolated in their homes for 14 days.
