Albania Coronavirus Update 11 June: 35 Deaths, 44 New Cases, 349 Active Cases, 1385 Total Cases

A 59-year-old man has died due to complications related to Covid-19, bringing the death toll in Albania to 35. The man died on Thursday morning after being hospitalized in intensive care for six days. He had several chronic diseases, according to the Public Health Institute.

44 new cases of COVID-19 have been found in Albania during the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 1385. 

This is the highest number of newly infected people since the first two cases were found on March 9. 

The Institute of Public Health advised citizens to follow social distancing guidelines while the country opens.

The new cases were found in Tirana (22), Kruja (6), Shkodra (4), Kamez (4), Durres (4), Lushnja (2) and Vlora (1), Elbasan (1).

40 medical staff were tested, 9 of them resulted positive. 291 tests were conducted in total in the last 24 hours.

1001 people have recovered, 21 in the last 24 hours..

There are currently 52  patients hospitalized with the virus, eight are in intensive care.

349 cases are still active in the country, mainly in Tirana, Shkodra, and Kruja.
