The Albanian police have started to carry out quarantine checks on people infected with Covid-19 following the recent rise in the number of infections.
Other relevant agencies are also checking implementation of measures in shops and other businesses.
In videos posted on social media, Prime Minister Edi Rama warned the public to comply with guidelines against the virus, including wearing masks, washing hands, and social distancing.
Police were seen checking on infected people in their lodgings, and advising them to stay at home until full recovery. Those who break the quarantine face fines.
Businesses also face fines, closure or criminal charges for not complying with mandatory measures.
Albania has recorded 76 deaths and 2,893 cases in total.
