Two of the political activists from left-wing grassroots organization Organizata Politike, Klodian Leka and Bislim Lakna, were arrested yesterday night, allegedly for spraying the names of Albanian politicians on garbage dumpster around Tirana.
The initiative to write the names members of parliament’s names who voted in favor of the waste management law followed upon a public call made by MP Ben Blushi during the parliamentary session.
Yesterday, the Albanian Parliament approved the waste management law, which will also regulate the import of waste into Albania, which is opposed by a broad coalition of civil society and environmental organizations.
The law passed with only voted from the PS-LSI majority, with opposition PD voting against.
