50 new cases of COVID-19 have been found in Albania during the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 1838.
A 69-year old from Kruja succumbed to the virus, after several days in intensive care, bringing the total number of victims to 42.
The new cases were found in Tirana (17), Shkodra (4), Kruja (6), Vlora (7), Durrës (4), Fier (4), Korça (3), Vlora (2), Kurbin (1), Mirdita (1), Saranda (1), and Elbasan (2).
The infected include people who have had contact with previously diagnosed cases, but also new ones into whom epidemiological investigations continue.
70 percent of those infected, or 1114 people have recovered.
Over 22,000 people have been tested since March.
There are currently 64 patients hospitalized with the virus, 7 are in intensive care, one is intubated.
682 cases are still active in the country in Tirana (317), Shkodra (112), Kruja (72), Kamëz (30), Durrës (140), Puka (11), Vlora (45), Lushnja (12), Korça (10), Librazhd (1), Mallakastra (2), Fier (28), Kukës (5), Tropoja (2), Mat (2), Lezha (12), Ura Vajgurore (1), Berat (1), Elbasan (9), Gjirokastra (1).
