The Albanian government has lifted all pandemic-related restrictions for foreign tourists visiting the country.
No Covid-19 test, antibody test, vaccine passport or any other document related to the virus will be necessary to visit Albania starting from June 1, the government announced on Saturday.
The requirement for a 14-day quarantine upon entering the country is also lifted.
In their announcement, the government called of foreign tourists to stay at least 1.5 meters away from others at the airport to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
Summer health centers in 29 spots across the country will also offer rapid tests for the coronavirus starting from next week.
New infections and coronavirus-related deaths have dropped drastically in Albania in the last month. Fewer than 300 cases remain active in the whole country, while no deaths have been registered for several days in a row. Roughly one third of the population has received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The government is hoping for a boom in tourism this summer after the sector was badly hit last year due to pandemic restrictions.
