11 people lost their lives due to COVID-related complications in the past 24 hours, reported the Albanian Ministry of Health on Sunday afternoon. It is the highest daily mortality recorded in Albania since last March, and one of the highest since the beginning of the pandemic.
Both the number of new infections and deaths have steadily increased in the past 4-6 weeks.
The Albanian government has reiterated its call for everyone over 18 to get vaccinated. About 755 thousand people have been fully vaccinated so far, out of 2,3 million adults living in the country.
