Albania Reports the Two First Cases with COVID-19

The two first cases of coronavirus infection are confirmed in Albania. Country’s Ministry of Health reported in the early hours of Monday morning that two persons, father and son, were just diagnosed with COVID-19.

Both are in stable condition, receiving treatment in Tirana’s Mother Teresa Hospital.

They had recently visited Florence in Italy and fell ill upon returning home. They drove from Florence to Tirana few days ago, entering the country through the Hani Hotit border-crossing in north Albania.

The ministry called upon all persons who have traveled to affected countries and show flu symptoms to call 127 so that doctors can determine if they need to be tested for the coronavirus infection.
