From January 1, 2021, small businesses whose annual turnover does not exceed 14 million ALL (€115,000) will not have to pay profits taxes anymore.
On July 29, the Albanian Parliament approved the changes to the law on profits tax.
The Parliament also approved removing VAT obligations for all small businesses whose annual turnover does not exceed 8 million ALL (€64,000).
These relief measures will be temporary, and will only last until 2029. They intend to aid small businesses following the successive blows they suffered after the November 26 earthquake, and during the coronavirus pandemic.
