Albanian Army to Patrol Tirana to Ensure Coronavirus Curfew is Enforced

The Albanian Ministry of Defense has announced that as of today, the Armed Forces will be monitoring neighborhoods within Tirana.

The police forces and the army will be on the ground ensuring that citizens abide with the government-mandated curfews and rules regarding congregation.

After yesterday’s tightening of curfew restrictions, people are only allowed to venture outside to the grocers or pharmacy until 1pm today. Going out after that hour until Monday 5am is banned. All shops will also be closed. Those found breaking the rules are subject to a 10,000 ALL fine and cars found violating the no-driving rule risk having their license confiscated.

The MoD said that 165 people were fined yesterday for violating the rules.
