Albanian Constitutional Court One Step Closer to Becoming Functional

The Justice Appointments Council (KED) has sent the list of the three ranked Constitutional Court candidates to the Albanian parliament to elect one.

Once the parliament elects between judges Sonila Bejtja, Aleksandër Toma and Altin Binaj, the Constitutional Court will have five of its nine members, becoming only one member short of being functional.

US and EU ambassadors in Albania applauded the move, and urged the KED to urgently do the same for the candidates to be sent to the President, so that the court becomes functional before the end of the year.
