Albanian Courts Searched Following Bomb Hoaxes

Several Albanian justice institutions were brought to a standstill on Tuesday following anonymous bomb hoaxes.

Anonymous phone calls were made to the authorities to notify them of a bomb at SPAK, a special court structure set up to fight organised crime and corruption, and the Court of Appeals.

“Around 11:00 a.m., the Operative Room received a call about a number of explosives suspected to have been placed in an official institution, on “Jordan Misja” street, says the police announcement.

Police reacted immediately, clearing the vicinity of both sites and carrying out extensive searches of the premises. Following the search, it was deemed to be a hoax. Meanwhile, the number used to make the call is no longer working, and police are attempting to identify them.
