Albanian Doctor That Died from COVID-19 Had No Other Serious Medical Conditions

Doctor Arjan Pushi, the Albanian doctor who lost his life to COVID-19 yesterday, did not suffer from any other seriousmedical conditions.

Chief of Haematology at QSUT and colleague of Pushi, Arben Ivanaj, told journalist Mirela Milori that his death was unexpected.

“It was a sudden loss. There were no serious illnesses other than first-degree hypertension. This virus is treacherous. He had been hospitalised in the Infectious Diseases Hospital for 15 days. He had been in a serious condition for a week and then intubated for 48 hours.”

The cause of death given on the official certificate is “COVID-19”.

Pushi was infected while working in the haematology ward where there are 13 doctors, nurses, and other specialists infected with the virus.

He was 58-years-old when he died.
