The Albanian government has approved a EUR 4.2 million fund to rebuild homes and buildings in Kamza and Kavaja that were damaged by the 26 November earthquake.
After the initial tender for reconstruction failed, put forward by the Albanian Development Fund (ADF) in 10 Municipalities, the government has decided to allocate the fund to specific Municipalities instead.
On 13 April, the ADF cancelled thee EUR 53 million tender for the reconstruction of 2500 apartments in Kamza, Kavaja, Rrogozhina, Kruja, Kurbin, Lezha, Mirdita, Shijak and Vora. The reason given for this was that none of the competing companies met the criteria.
