The Albanian government has taken a decision that requires big businesses that supply food and drugs to keep reserves adequate for three months.
Under the new rule, all entities that trade in food stuffs and drugs are and are wholesalers are obliged to take the new measures. They are obliged to hold at least three months worth of stock, and in the cases of items with a shorter shelf life, as long as that allows. This is to help cope with the situation caused by Coronavirus.
Any goods that remain unsold by the end of the epidemic can be sold to the state. The goods will be reimbursed against the purchase invoice. The rules and procedures for this buy-back will be determined by a decision to be made by the Council of Ministers.
