Albanian MP Rudina Hajdari has donated food to 50 families in Tirana’s Lapraka area, her constituency.
Hajdari posted a call on Facebook, asking Lapraka families to contact her if they were in need of aid. She pledged to help 5 families in need every day.
Many local families have no source of income currently, as they daily jobs ahave lost their s a result of the coronavirus curfew.
MP Hajdari also called on those who can help, to come to the aid of families in need, who, besides food expenses, also need to pay their utility bills. Electricity and water payments have yet to be waived or postponed by the government.
Hajdari was elected to parliament in 2017 as part of the Democratic Party (PD) shortlist, but refused to give up her seat when the opposition decided to abandon the parliament in protest.
