Dozens of oil workers who are not participating in the hunger strike launched by their colleagues, clashed with company guards at the oil refinery in Ballsh on Tuesday.
They attempted to enter the plant to meet with representatives of the company that hasn’t paid their wages for more than a year, News24 reported.
Meanwhile 10 other oil workers are on their 16th day of hunger strike.
Their condition has deteriorated significantly, and three of them were hospitalized. They say they’re determined to continue with the strike, as their only chance to be heard.
The Ballsh refinery oil workers have repeatedly called on Prime Minister Edi Rama to intervene in the dispute between them and the company.
Rama says he is not responsible, and has called on workers to sit in dialogue with the private company.
