President Ilir Meta held a meeting of the National Security Council of Albania today, where he called for investigations and prosecution of all those responsible for the collapse of buildings in the November 26 earthquake that left 51 dead.
“We support the prosecutor’s office to advance investigations and hold criminally accountable all those who result responsible. We must guarantee domestic resources and adequate international support to overcome the grave consequences of this horrible earthquake,” President Meta said.
Speaker of Parliament Gramoz Ruçi, Prime Minister Edi Rama, “Temporary” General Prosecutor Arta Marku, chief of police Ardi Veliu and chief of emergency department Haki Çako were among those attending the Security Council meeting.
