Albanian primary and high school students will return to a full, non-shift-based schedule starting Monday.
Minister of Education Evis Kushti announced the news on Friday, scrapping some measures adapted in schools to combat COVID-19.
The Albanian school year began on September 27 at a reduced schedule. Students were expected to attend class in alternating shifts of 30-minutes.
The original decision proved unpopular among parents who were alerted of the shift-based schedule two days before classes started.
Teachers will still require to be fully vaccinated to attend classes, or they will need to present a negative COVID-19 test every week. According to Kushi, 88% of Albanian teachers have already been vaccinated.
To date, Albania has reserved vaccination for people over 18.
