An employee of Albania’s Special Forces RENEA has been arrested by the Service for Internal Affairs and Complaints under suspicion of being a part of a network of drug dealers and traffickers in the capital.
Rael Luli was arrested with four other people. It’s alleged that the organization was operating in Yzberisht, Kombinat, and Student City, amongst other areas within Tirana. During the operation, drugs such as cocaine and cannabis, money, and weapons were seized.
Out of all those arrested, only Luli is a police officer. It’s reported he was running the organization.
Authorities said that the operation is ongoing and the apartments of those under arrest are being searched. More details will be published upon its conclusion.
