Mira Rakacolli, the chair of Albania’s task force on pandemic response, was seen in an electoral event of the Ruling socialist Party on Wednesday, in violation of rules proposed by her institution and imposed by the government.
Rakacolli, who is also deputy minister of health, participated in a Socialist Party meeting in support of MP Ervin Bushati’s reelection, in a venue with more than 10 people, which is a clear violation of measures she has proposed to the government.
The photo was posted on social media by Socialist MP Elona Gjebrea but was later removed.
It shows that Rakacolli and others also violated the social distancing rule her task force has made obligatory on Albanians, while many are seen disregarding the requirement to wear a mask.
According to measures taken by Rakacolli’s task force, everyone in the meeting must be fined, including herself and the meeting organizer, the Socialist Party.
Albania is headed for general elections on April 25.
