Nearly 500 kg of cannabis were seized on Wednesday by the police in the bay of Bristan, on the Karaburun peninsula.
The police began searching the area after a 12m long speedboat was found in the Darzeza beach, Fier, in the early morning.
As per usual, the police did not manage to apprehend the traffickers who upon seeing that they were being followed, abandoned the boat and hid in the forest.
This is the second large shipment to be seized in the area, within the last two weeks. On June 5, 671 kg of cannabis were found in the same area, within several warehouses. However, no arrests were made.
According to what information is available until now, the two shipments are related and were both meant to be shipped to Italy.
