Another vetting judge has been reported to the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SPAK) for “falsifying documents”.
Alma Faskaj, a member of the Independent Qualification Commission was reported by Judge Hajrie Mucmata yesterday. She is a former appeals judge who was dismissed by the KPC on 11 November 2019.
Mucmata reported to SPAK that Faskaj was fired as a judge in Lushnje in 1996 by a decision of the High Council of Justice. It was due to a violation of the law and incapacity for duty.
This contradicts the criteria for selecting members of vetting institutions. The law states that candidates and members should not have had any disciplinary action against them in the past or any measure that is still in force.
Mucmata argues that the KPC commissioner hid the fact she was fired and that this violates the legitimacy of the institution she was appointed to. The denunciation states that she meets all the legal requirements for the measure of suspension of duty to be enforced.
