Austria has announced the lifting of the travel ban for non-essential reasons with Albania, as of 24 June.
The news was broken by the Austrian Embassy in Tirana which said that Albanians are now free to travel for any reason. When traveling, people will be required to bring with them either a PCR test no older than 72 hours, a negative antigen test no older than 48 hours, a vaccination certificate, or a certification that they have had and are now free of the virus, issued by an authorized institution.
There is no requirement for any forms to be filled out before traveling.
The decision follows the recommendation of the European Union to allow travel with Albania, which is now considered a safe country for COVID-19.
A few days ago, the Netherlands and Greece decided to lift bans and restrictions on traveling to and from Albania.
