Bars and Cafes to Open in Albania from 18 May

On May 18, cafes and restaurants will be able to open following two months of closure due to COVID-19. 

Today, the new rules according to which cafes and restaurants will be opened have been published on the e-Albania portal.

New rules for employees

1 – They must state whether they have had contact with a person infected with Covid-19.

2 – They should check every day if they have symptoms of coronavirus. In case of symptoms, the person should immediately notify 127 and the person in charge.

3 – They must wear protective gloves and a protective mask at all times, covering the nose and mouth.

Cleaning bars and restaurants

1 – They should have at all times soap, hand cleaning paper, masks, gloves and disinfectants for cleaning surfaces and closed trash cans that need to be cleaned every day.

2 – Must have disinfectant with at least 60 per cent alcohol.

3 – People who supply bars and restaurants should be provided with masks and gloves.

  1. A protective glass should be placed between the client and the cash register. It is advisable to avoid cash payments and to take them by card instead.

5 – Disinfect the environment twice a day.

6 – The distance from the back of a chair to the back of another chair should be at least 1m.

7 – A corridor dedicated to customers to go to the cash register level must be provided, as must a corridor for exit from the environment. 

8 – Customers should disinfect their hands before and after entering restaurants or bars.
