In an interview with Eni Vasili, PD leader Lulzim Basha pushed back against Prime Minister Edi Rama’s rhetoric that his coalition partner LSI has to be blamed for the all the failure of his government.
Do you understand what they [PS] are telling the Albanians? The government has been terrible, there was drugs, [Director-General of the State Police] Haki “Drugs” Çako, corruption, nominations. Everything they say about their common government is true. It’s what we have denounced for 4 years.
We don’t claim that the LSI has the responsibility for those 4 years. The responsibility is divided between the PS and LSI. The Prime Minister is responsible for raising the taxes and the price of energy, but couldn’t take those decisions without Ilir Meta. Those two has thrown [Albanian] into an economic hole for the sake of their power.
The baking tray they’re talking about today, it’s both of them: the Renaissance and Ilir Meta. Both need to pay the bill on Sunday. They have both been in a government and one of them has had the steering wheel, and the other the possibility to pull the breaks. Neither has fulfilled their duties and both have thought about their power and the enrichment of their people.
