Basha Rejects Any Political Deal on Caretaker Gov’t

Yesterday opposition leader Lulzim Basha further clarified his position on the demand for a caretaker government. He excluded any possible political formula regarding its composition. During a speech in the protest tent in front of the Prime Ministry, and later in a Facebook post, declared that the caretaker government cannot be the result of a political “bargain” between the government and the opposition:

If there will be a political dialogue it will never turn into dirty bargaining of several politicians of the opposition with several politicians of the majority to continue the economic and political conspiracy against the citizens, to continue the old republic.

It will be a political dialogue to secure free and fair elections which will once and for all bring an end to the old republic, old ways, old manners, and everything rotten in this country that holds that interests, hopes, and the development of Albania and the Albanians hostage.

In this confrontation I do not represent my own issues, nor my own interests or the narrow political interests of a political party, but I embrace the interests and hopes of all honest Albanians, which are the force and security, which are the blessing of the new republic that is coming.

They want that the Democratic Party and the opposition take their seats and the pieces of power under the criminal dome of the old republic. That is their hope, their project. In the coming hours we will unfold this conspiracy for all to see.

The conspiracy of the old republic is supported by the originators of the economic misery of the country, the current prime minister of the country, and his political gang, but also by the oligarchs that have learned to harvest millions, not through honest work, but through current tenders and concessions without end.
