Child Protection NGO Asks Albanian Government Not to Open Schools on 14 September

The Center for Child Protection (CRCA) urged the government not to open schools on 14 September.

In a public response , CRCA claimed that the government did not conduct any studies regarding the safety of children in schools during this pandemic.

They claim that there is no published plan of the Ministry regarding the beginning of the school year.

CRCA / ECPAT Albania, through this public reaction, publicly asks the Albanian Government: Do not open public schools of pre-university education, without a proper study of the impact and spread of covid among children and because of children in families in Albania!

The opening of schools should be done only through a well-studied national plan, in consultation with parents and the public, which takes into account the health of children, the rate of spread of the virus in Albania, the possibilities of the pediatric system to face the increasing possibility that covid-19 will affect even the poorest children and most exposed to aspiration diseases, diabetes, lack of healthy food, etc. “

The Ministry of Education announced three days ago that the schools will open on September 14 and students will attend classes there. The Democratic Party reacted to this decision, accusing the government of having no plans to start the school year.
