The Constitutional Court has demanded the government to set a timeline for the duration of restrictions of movement and gatherings. It came following a request by the Republican Party.
On Wednesday, the Court announced it had partially accepted the request. It demanded the government to set a date for the end of pandemic restrictions within one week.
The government restrictions order was issued in November 2020. One month later, the Republican Party appealed to the Constitutional Court against the decision that banned meetings of more than 10 people, political rallies indefinitely, “until a second order”. The Court said the phrase should be replaced with a clear time limit, but that restrictions are constitutional.
