Constitutional Court Upholds Suspension Vetting Law

The Constitutional Court uphold its decision to suspend the law “For the transitional revaluation of judges and procurators” from October after the Democratic Party filed a suit against the law.

It denied the request of the Socialist Party to remove the suspension of the implementation of the law, which is currently being reviewed by the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe at the request of the Constitutional Court.

Chairperson of the Court Bashkim Dedja confirmed that “from the moment when the decision was taken until now no circumstances have changed.”

US Ambassador Donald Lu and EU Ambassador Romana Vlahutin were present in the session.
