Coronavirus Cases Surge Globally

The number of Coronavirus cases and fatalities is increasing rapidly worldwide. 

Worldometer reports that there are 423,469 cases globally, 109,153 recovered, and 18,909 deaths.

Out of the 295,407 currently infected patients, 96% are in a “mild condition” with 4% in a “serious or critical” condition.

Between March 21 and 24, the number of cases surged by 117,620. During the same period, the number of deaths increased from 13,011 to 18,894. Yesterday there were a total of 2,381 deaths, an increase of 14%. 

It is estimated that the number of cases of infection is far higher as many are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms and do not get tested.

  • Italy: 69,176 cases, 6,820 deaths, 8,326 recovered.
  • USA: 54,916 cases, 784 deaths, 379 recovered.
  • Spain: 42,058 cases, 2,991 deaths, 3,794 recovered.
  • Germany: 32,991 cases, 159 deaths, 3,290 recovered.
  • Iran: 24,811 cases, 1,934 deaths, 8,913 recovered.
  • France: 22,304 cases, 1,100 deaths, 3,281 recovered.
  • UK: 8,077 cases, 422 deaths, 135 recovered.
  • Switzerland: 9877 cases, 122 deaths, 131 recovered.

In Albania, there are currently 123 cases, five deaths, and 10 recovered. A total of 930 tests have been carried out. An update on the situation is expected from the Health Ministry mid-morning.
