Court Hearings Halted in Six Cities until Building Safety Assured

The High Judicial Council (KLGj) has decided to halt all court proceedings in areas affected by the earthquake until the government concludes the safety checks in all court buildings.

The KLGj announced on their website that:

“As a result of the situation created by the seismic quakes, keeping the safety of citizens and court administration as a main priority, the KLGj informs that no hearings will take place in courts located in Tiranë, Durrës, Kavajë, Krujë, Lezhë, Laç, until responsible authorities confirm the suitability of their buildings.”

A magnitude 6.3 earthquake hit Albania on November 26, leaving 51 dead, over 900 injured and thousands of damaged buildings.
