The Court of Tirana refused to certify the mandate of Socialist Party (PS) Vorë mayor–elect Agim Kajmaku.
Judge Ariana Gunbardhi decided that the Court of Tirana is not competent to review the case, which should be adjudicated by the Administrative Court of Tirana.
Agim Kajmaku of the ruling Socialist Party was the only mayoral candidate in the June 30 local elections held in violation of the presidential decree cancelling the date.
The Court of Durrës also refused to certify the mandate of Durrës mayor-elect today.
Judge Mimoza Margjeka decided that elections were held in violation of the law because following the Central Election Commission (KQZ) decision to register in elections the newly formed Democratic Conviction Party without a final court verdict certifying its foundation. The verdict stated that the KQZ decision was “absolutely invalid”.
